Birhane Worede Woledeyesus (b.1998) lives and works in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
In 2021, Birhane graduated with the highest honor as a gold medal student from Addis Ababa University, Alle School of Fine Art and Design (Painting). He further obtained a certificate of fine art from the Russian Culture and Art Center in Addis Ababa when he was 18 years old.
Throughout his work, Birhane expresses an interest in self-discovery and the surrounding world in which he lives. His artistic exploration is deeply rooted in visually interpreting his view of the psychology of human behavior. Birhane’s abstract figurative paintings often present the human figure in a chaotic world. These are connected to personal stories of pain and triumph while continuing his quest to interpret his place in the world, and how he negotiates his position within it.
